Setting Up the Security Features

The following key information is maintained in the Security tab of the Administration page.

To change any details, update the fields as necessary; then, click the Update button.

Force Secure Access

Forces all users to use the secure HTTPS protocol. This option can only be enabled after you have successfully installed an SSL certificate on your web server and you have connected to the Web Control Center using a secure (HTTPS) connection. Once enabled, all access to the Web Control Center is made using a secure (HTTPS) connection.

Anonymous Access

If Anonymous Access is checked, then Read Only access is allowed without requiring a login. To change any data on the site the user must still login. If a user 'Guest' exists then its configuration is used for all anonymous access. This allows the site administrator to restrict anonymous users to a specified subset of the Centennial Discovery® Web Edition data.

Logon Cookie

Once enabled, users are given the option on the login page, to store their username and password in a cookie. Once stored, the user is then automatically recognized on subsequent visits. This option should not be enabled when the Web Control Center is accessed via the Internet.
