To find out whether your company is compliant in terms of software licenses, use one of the Software Compliance reports. These reports only include products that your company's Administrator has defined as requiring a license.
On the Software License Compliance by Product report, a red icon is shown next to products if there are more copies installed than licenses entered in Purchase Details records. (A Purchase Detail relates to a piece of paper that authorizes use of a product and includes the number of licenses.)
As with all Web Control Center reports, you can display more detailed information by clicking on the highlighted entries in each column.
To generate this query, follow these steps:
Use the reporting level control in the options panel on the left of the page to select which part of the organization you want to search on. (Only Organizational Units that your Web Control Center user account has access to are displayed in the drop-down list.)
Click on the Software tab.
Select the License compliance by product tile.
The table shows licensable products installed in the Organizational Units that you have access to.
For each entry the colored icon shows whether the product version is compliant. The five columns to the right show:
At the far right, there are hyperlinks to view the usage of the software and detailed information from the Discovery.Portal.
